A narrow losing Thursday. Six picks on the main slate, four winners and two losses, settling at net minus 0.37u on six units staked, a return on investment of minus 6.2 per cent on the day. Both losses were full one unit hits — a home shutout and a two goal defeat — and together they just edged out the four winners. A red day, but a shallow one, well inside the system’s expected variance.

The two minus 0.5 favourites in the Baltic and the Nordics both delivered. Tallinna Flora carried the Meistriliiga leg, taken on the minus 0.5 line away at Kuressaare, and won 3-0 (a goal up at the break) to bank plus 0.35u at 1.35. Flora, the most decorated club in Estonian football, controlled the game from front to back and the outright margin never looked in doubt. Kultsu edged a 3-2 win over MiPK in the Finnish regional card for plus 0.60u at the longer 1.60, the minus 0.5 line covered by the single goal margin and the tighter of the two but a winner all the same.

The two quarter line calls both banked cleanly. Chicago Dutch Lions won 4-0 away at Rochester, the plus 0.25 line settling as a full win at 1.31 for plus 0.31u, the bridge resolved to a Double Chance on the away side and never needed the draw cover. Cumbayá produced the most emphatic result of the day, a 4-0 home win over 22 de Julio in the Ecuadorian Serie B (one up at half time before pulling clear), the plus 0.25 line a full winner at 1.37 for plus 0.37u.

The red ink came from two positions and both were full unit losses. Peoria City were the minus 0.5 home favourite against St. Louis Ambush and were beaten 4-1 which was a heavy upset that broke the line outright for minus 1.00u, and the one result that genuinely stung on a line that rarely fails this badly. Hassania Agadir away plus 1.25 at Raja Casablanca lost 0-2, the two goal margin breaking the plus 1.25 cushion on both split legs (the plus 1.0 half and the plus 1.5 half) for minus 1.00u. Both are textbook losses within the cell’s expected distribution at the line; the Peoria scoreline was simply an outlier.

Net minus 0.37u on the day. Four winners could not quite cover the two full unit losses, with the Peoria shutout the difference between a small green and a small red. The favourites who were supposed to win did (Flora, Kultsu, Chicago, Cumbayá); the favourite who was supposed to win and did not (Peoria) decided the column.
